FAQ about Hostel SLEPS

Under one roof you'll find two areas: the independent Hostel SLEPS and the DJH-certified youth hostel. No membership is required for the hostel area – it's open to all travellers. For the youth hostel area you need a valid DJH (or international hostelling) membership, which you can also purchase on-site. The main differences are membership, furnishing and price.

For stays in our youth hostel area you need a valid DJH membership or membership in another International Youth Hostel Federation (IYHF) association. You can of course purchase it directly with us on-site. More information can be found at: www.jugendherberge.de/en/membership/
Groups need a group membership. No membership is required for bookings in our SLEPS hostel area.

Prices depend on room type and season. In the youth hostel area, prices start from €36 per person/night, and in the hostel area from €79. You can see the current prices directly when booking online.

You can cancel your booking free of charge – provided it was made directly with us – up to one day before your planned arrival until 6:00 p.m. In case of late cancellation or no-show without cancellation, we charge a cancellation fee of 50% of all agreed services per person and night. Group bookings are excluded from this policy.

You can pay in cash, with a debit card (EC card), or with common credit cards (Visa, Mastercard). We do not charge any additional fees for credit card payments.

You pay for your stay at Hostel SLEPS at check-in.

Hostel SLEPS is centrally located in the old town of Augsburg at: Unterer Graben 6, 86152 Augsburg.

From Augsburg main station, you can reach Hostel SLEPS by bus 44 to “Klinik Vincentinum” (does not run on Sundays), or by trams 3, 4, or 6 to “Königsplatz”, then tram 1 to “Barfüßerbrücke”. From each stop, it is only a few minutes’ walk.

Hostel SLEPS is also located close to the “Romantic Road” cycling route from Würzburg to Füssen - only about 500 meters away.

Due to our central location in Augsburg’s old town we have just a limited number of own parking spaces in our backyard. We recommend to inquire those as soon as possible. 

Additional parking options can be found in the surrounding area.

Yes, on request we store your luggage safely and free of charge at reception before check-in and after check-out.

In the hostel area: single and double rooms (also as a Comfort version with more space) and spacious suites – including the SLEPS Family Suite (on request). In the youth hostel area: single and twin rooms, 4-bed rooms, gender-separated dormitories and two accessible rooms (on request). Prices start from €36 (dormitory) or €79 (hostel single room). Yes, breakfast is included in all our rooms – in both the hostel and the youth hostel area. We take great care to serve a rich breakfast with an award-winning share of at least 20% organic and regional products.

We always provide bed linen (in the youth hostel you make up the beds yourself). In the hostel area, towels as well as soap/shower gel and a hairdryer are included; in the youth hostel, please bring your own towels and soap / shower gel or rent them for a small fee. Free WiFi is available throughout the building.

In the youth hostel area we have two accessible rooms (bathroom opposite, for up to 2 people) that are bookable on request only. Please call us at +49 821 7808890 or contact us by mail at rezeption@augsburg-jugendherberge.de and we'll check availability for your dates.

Yes, there is a passenger lift.

Yes – we offer dedicated packages for group and family trips, and our own seminar and leisure rooms are available for groups and seminars. The best way is to contact us directly by mail at info@sleps.de, and we'll find the right rooms and rates. Separate cancellation terms apply to group bookings.

As a DJH youth hostel in Bavaria, we offer free places for school classes – typically two free places per class of 22+ participants on stays of at least four nights with full board. Please contact us for the current conditions.

The reception at Hostel SLEPS is open daily from 6:30 a.m. to midnight. Check-in is from 3:00 p.m. to midnight, and check-out is from 6:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.

In the youth hostel area, you are welcome to bring your dog for a service fee of €7.00 per day. Please make sure to register your dog in advance. Dogs are not permitted in the dining hall. Further information can be found at: https://www.jugendherberge.de/bayern/urlaub-mit-hund/. 
Please note that dogs are not allowed in the SLEPS hostel area.
